Located in northwest Calgary, the University of Calgary campus occupies a beautiful, park-like setting covering more than 200 hectares, or an area larger than Calgary’s entire downtown. The U of C is home to scholars in 16 faculties (offering more than 80 academic programs) and 36 research institutes and centres.

More than 28,000 students are currently enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and professional degree programs. The U of C has graduated 120,000 alumni over its 40-year history, including the current Prime Minister of Canada.

The University of Alberta is situated in the heart of City of Edmonton in a scenic area on the south bank of the North Saskatchewan River. Edmonton, the capital city of the province of Alberta, has a greater area population of about 875,000 and is known for its expansive park system that runs through the city. Edmonton has cold, but sunshine-filled winters and very pleasant summers. It is located only a few hours drive from the Banff and Jasper National Parks, which offer excellent skiing in the winter and excellent hiking and sightseeing in the summer.

The University of Sherbrooke accomodates more than 35 000 coeds and students, including 15 000 full-time.

Since its foundation, the University of Sherbrooke accomodates international coeds and students, and each year, they are increasingly numerous to choose UdeS. Today, more than 1500 foreign students, coming from an about sixty country, attend the University.

Named after explorer Simon Fraser, SFU opened on September 9, 1965. Taking only 30 months to grow from the idea stage into an almost-completed campus with 2,500 students it was dubbed the “Instant University”.

Just over 40 years later SFU has over 25,000 students and 90,000 alumni, and more than 700 tenure-track faculty. The original campus has grown into three vibrant campuses in Burnaby, Vancouver and Surrey and SFU’s reputation has grown into one of innovative teaching, research, and community outreach.

Bishop Patrick R. Heffron, the second bishop of Winona, founded Saint Mary's as a college in 1912 to provide higher education for young men in southern Minnesota's Diocese of Winona and surrounding areas. In its early years, the university operated as an academy and junior college. In 1925, it became a four-year liberal arts college. The descendants of 19thcentury settlers in Minnesota and Wisconsin thus received a classical education from a highly educated faculty composed primarily of diocesan clergy. The students of the early decades became religious, professional, and business leaders in their communities.

The Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, an international Catholic teaching order founded in France in 1680 by Saint John Baptist de La Salle, purchased Saint Mary's College from the Diocese of Winona in 1933. Soon thereafter, the university obtained formal accreditation of its bachelor's degree programs by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Enrollment increased from 200 to 500 students over the next 15 years, aided by an influx of graduates from De La Salle Christian Brothers' high schools in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Chicago, Kansas City, and St. Louis.
